Founded in 2008, the Baitambogwe Community Healthcare Initiative (BACHI) is an indigenous non-governmental organization registered under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act, 2016 of Uganda (Reg. No. INDR117592920NB). BACHI is headquartered in Mayuge District and serves communities across Eastern and Central Uganda.
BACHI was established in response to the critical observation that the burden of ill health is a major barrier to socio-economic development among underserved populations. By addressing health as a fundamental human right, we empower communities to overcome vulnerability, improve livelihoods, and build resilient and sustainable futures.

Baitambogwe Community Healthcare Initiative [BACHI] was established in Uganda in 2008 and it is a registered local non-governmental organization, Reg.number: INDR117592920NB) under the National Bureau for Non-Governmental Organization body established by the non-governmental organization act 2016. It has operational offices in Mayuge district, serving Eastern and Central Uganda.
The organization interventions are in; healthcare, HIV/TB Prevention, Reproductive Health, Sustainable Livelihood, Human rights advocacy, climate change, research and Orphan and vulnerable Children (OVC) support. The organization was established after realizing that the effects of ill health among the community members have contributed greatly to the poor social- economic status of communities.

The BACHI Medical Centre offers a wide range of services, including outpatient care, laboratory services, antenatal care, labor and delivery, immunization, family planning, and specialized HIV prevention and sexual reproductive health services.
Established in 2019, our Technical Institute addresses socio-economic challenges by providing vocational training to young adults and teen mothers. We offer certified courses in motor vehicle mechanics, tailoring, hairdressing, electrical installation, and computer technology to help graduates achieve self-reliance.
We invite the international community to partner with us through grants, strategic collaborations, or donations. We have a proven track record of working with global agencies such as USAID, GAVI, PATH, and the Global Fund to implement high-impact health and empowerment projects.
We believe that health interventions are most effective when they are community-led. Our approach involves mobilizing Village Health Teams (VHTs) and Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) for household sensitization, tracking "zero-dose" children, and promoting "Malaria Smart Homes"
