Donation Terms & Refund Policy

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern all donations made to BACHI, a registered non-profit and non-government organization in Uganda. By initiating a donation through our website or DPO Pay portal, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Use of Donations

All funds donated to BACHI are used to support our core mission of:

  • Public Health Interventions: Improving community health outcomes through outreach. medical care, education and research.
  • Empowerment of Youth and Other Vulnerable Individuals: Providing vocational skills and training, mentorship, and livelihood support.
  • Community Support: Implementing health-related interventions in underserved regions.

BACHI reserves the right to use funds where the need is greatest, ensuring your contribution creates the maximum possible impact within our approved charitable objectives.

3. Refund Policy

As a non-profit organization, BACHI treats all donations as voluntary and irrevocable gifts. Under Ugandan law and standard NGO practice, donations are generally non-refundable.

However, we recognize that mistakes happen. We will consider a refund request only under the following exceptional circumstances:

  • Technical Errors: If a technical glitch resulted in a duplicate transaction.
  • Unauthorized Use: If your credit card or mobile money account was used fraudulently (subject to verification by DPO Pay and your bankers).
  • Data Entry Error: If you accidentally added any digit in unintentional way (e.g., donating 1,000,000 UGX instead of 100,000 UGX).

Refund Request Window: Requests must be made in writing to bachicbo@gmail.com within 7 days of the transaction date. After 7 days, funds are typically committed to field projects and cannot be recovered.

4. Cancellation Policy (Recurring Donations)

If you have signed up for a monthly or recurring donation:

  • You may cancel your recurring donation at any time by contacting us at bachicbo@gmail.com  or through your DPO Pay dashboard.
  • Cancellations will stop all future payments; however, payments already processed are subject to the Refund Policy (Section 3).
  • Please allow 5 business days for the cancellation to be processed.

5. Payment Security

All online donations are processed securely via DPO Pay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment service provider. BACHI does not store your credit card numbers or mobile money PINs on our servers.

6. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda and the regulations of the Uganda National NGO Bureau.
